• Staff information: name, email address, phone number and role (admin or teacher) used for account creation and login.
• Student information: name, roll number, class, section, student photo, unique student code and group/stream (for grades 11-12).
• Parent/guardian information: parent name, parent email and parent phone number provided by the school or teacher.
• Learning activity: QR code scans, video watch time, quiz and live test attempts, bookmarks and study progress.
• Content uploads: videos, PDF notes, images and questions uploaded by teachers for their own students.
• Device information: device type, operating system version and anonymised usage analytics to improve app performance.

• To let teachers manage only their own students and content.
• To generate ID cards, progress reports and automatic email updates.
• To process Razorpay payments for ID card orders.
• To improve app features and fix technical issues.
• To communicate important service updates to staff and parents.

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share limited data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the app:

• Supabase — cloud database, authentication and storage.
• Razorpay — payment processing for ID card orders.
• Google AI / Gemini — optional AI translation, explanations and diagram generation.
• Email service providers — to send test reports and notifications to parents and teachers.

These providers are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

We keep data only as long as it is needed to provide the service or comply with legal obligations. Schools, teachers or parents may request correction or deletion of student records at any time by contacting us. Upon account closure, personal data is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period.

Children’s privacy

Edu QR System is designed for school use. Student accounts are created and managed by the school or teacher on the school’s authority. No student login is required. We comply with applicable children’s privacy laws, including COPPA where relevant, and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate school or parental consent.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including Row-Level Security (RLS), encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), role-based access control and secure authentication to protect your information. Teachers can access only their own students and content.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or website and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
